A COMPROMISED DA: Middleton’s Mess
Bombshell messages are exposing a Texas District Attorney using the power of his office to protect and also threaten Democratic public officials with reprisal if they buck him. Maybe that’s why Democratic prosecutor Brian Middleton tried to hide from our camera.
A COMPROMISED DA: Middleton’s Mess
I used to trust local DA’s to investigate public corruption, not anymore.
You know why? Guys like Fort Bend District Attorney Brian Middleton.
I’ve heard secretly recorded phone calls and compromising text messages, evidence of a corrupt District Attorney who sure seems like he is set out to protect fellow Democratic public officials from public complaints.
Middleton calls me a character assassin,
“He is a paid character assassin, right,” said DA Brian Middleton
That’s nice. Well, I call him a compromised DA.
“You know it’s all part of the caste system,” said DA Middleton.
You’re listening to a candid phone conversation between Fort Bend District Attorney Brian Middleton and Taral Patel, at the time chief of staff for County Judge KP George.
Middleton would later prosecute both for a campaign of fake hate on social media.
“I call you the peddler of fake hate. How many folks are you impersonating? What do you say to the voters?” said Wayne Dolcefino.
We went after Tarel Patel as he ran for Congress, long before the criminal charges came.
He lost that race.
“Don’t you think you owe taxpayers an apology? What’s so funny?” said Wayne Dolcefino.
And we repeatedly confronted KP George as the democratic plot was exposed.
But on that phone call, long before the scandal broke, Brian Middleton is talking about Republicans, and the storyline is familiar.
‘I know they don’t like black people, and they made their shit abundantly clear to me,” said DA Brian Middleton.
“I know they are racist, but I must dance around it, they need to understand they don’t like my black ass and they don’t like your brown ass,” said DA Brian Middleton.
“I don’t believe my community is racist; if they were, they would not have elected Brian Middleton in the first place,” said Shawn McDonald.
Former Judge Shawn McDonald is running to unseat Middleton.
McDonald’s campaign asked us to investigate the DA’s conduct. No one from the campaign, including the candidate, had any role in writing or editing this report.
What Brian Middleton didn’t know is that Taral Patel, his very close friend, was secretly recording the call.
It’s a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes skullduggery in Fort Bend County’s Democratic Party as the fake hate scandal played out.
“Tarel Patel and I, He and I were close friends and we have discussions I thought that would not be repeated.” said DA Brian Middleton.
Very close friends, that reason alone should have recused Brian Middleton from this fake hate investigation. He should have gotten out of the case right away. Patel was guilty, but their relationship was disqualified.
“You knew about the hate campaign too; we know there are recorded phone calls with you and Taral Patel,” said Andrea Palacio.
“That’s not true,” said DA Brian Middleton.
“I’ve heard the calls myself,” said Andrea Palacio.
Patel had used a picture of a real woman but posted under a fake name, Jennifer Tremaine. The post is calling the DA Brainless.
I believe I was insulted by the Brainless Brian post; as you know, that’s racist. I assumed it was somebody else. If I thought that was Taral Patel, I would have been angry at him. Taral Patel was a close friend of mine, and if I knew it was him behind it, of course I would have been angry.
But listen to this phone call between Middleton and Patel because they are talking about that exact post, the one that Middleton now claims is so racist. But he wasn’t mad on the call; he was happy.
“He likes it”
“Yeah, and I liked your post in there where they got the Brainless Middleton. I did see that,” said DA Brian Middleton.
Wait a minute, how did Brian Middleton even know Jennifer Tremaine was Taral Patel if he wasn’t part of the plot?
“Don’t even try to paint me as a racist. I love everyone; you can stop that,” said DA Brian Middleton.
But it’s not just recorded phone calls that reveal a compromised district attorney.
There is stunning text messages downloaded from Patel’s phone during the investigation. All of those text messages, this entire investigative file, should be released to the public, so we can see what Brian Middleton knew and who else might have known about this fake hate scandal. Release it today before voting.
And because of the prosecutions, we now know Brian Middleton violated public trust. Using the encrypted app Signal that can hide communications the public has a legal right to see.
“Those text messages have been cherry-picked to paint a particular thing that is not true,” said DA Brian Middleton.
All right, let’s pick some cherries, shall we?
In one text, Patel shares a fake post with Middleton from Antonio Scallywag.
The picture of the family is real, but Antonio was 100 percent BS, and boy was he nasty to South Asians; it was Patel’s, quite frankly, brainless idea to get them to vote for him when he ran for Congress.
“Go back to your shithole.” comments from “Antonio Scallwag”
“Patel and his followers who worship monkey and elephant” comment from “Antonio Scallwag”
Patel used the local media to try and cast himself as a victim of white hate.
Patel would later get indicted on felonies and misdemeanors for his proven social media deception.
“Absolutely, I have nothing to say about that,” said KP George.
“Don’t you think people have a right to know?” said Wayne Dolcefino.
Guess that settles it.
But Patel later would tell Middleton’s public integrity investigators his deeply destructive campaign to scare South Asians was known by a lot of democrats.
“Numerous elected officials and community leaders would have been aware,” said Tarel Patel.
The recording and Patel’s testimony were used by attorneys for former Judge KP George to try and get Middleton’s office disqualified from leading the prosecution.
A judge said no; George was convicted, not of the fake hate stuff, but paying his mortgage with campaign money. Money laundering.
Middleton has never been held accountable.
“A recorded phone call with the elected DA praising an individual for the fake Facebook post and then turning around and indicting him for it,” said Shawn McDonald.
Uncovered text messages certainly throw County Court at law judge Juli Mathew under the bus.
“I think we need to create some fake profiles ourselves,” she wrote in a Signal chat.
Fake hate is so funny, isn’t it?
Middleton wouldn’t do that interview when we asked, so we went and found him.
“You try to stick the camera in people’s faces to embarrass them. I have nothing to hide. I will look dead in your cameras and speak to you,” said DA Brian Middleton.
When I was a young reporter, Johny Holmes was the DA, an equal opportunity prosecutor, great handlebar mustache. He called balls and strikes regardless of party. Brian Middleton, you’re no Johnny Holmes.
The secret texts and phone calls reveal a DA who improperly uses his office to play politics.
And using Taral Patel to forward communications to the Soros family.
“Alex Soros needs to understand the only way for me to continue reform is to destroy Trevor; his shit is super urgent,” Wayne Dolcefino said, reading excerpts from Brian Middleton text exchange.
But that isn’t as alarming as a DA who protects public officials if they are targeted with corruption complaints just because they have a D next to their name.
“Do you use your office to protect fellow Democrats?” said Andrea Palacio.
“Absolutely not. You know that” said DA Brian Middleton.
“No, I don’t; I heard it in the phone calls,” said Andrea Palacio.
I have my own personal experience with DA Brian Middleton.
Our hidden camera proved Harris County Judge Darrell Jordan illegally arrested me for contempt years ago.
Middleton’s office investigated, and a grand jury indicted Jordan for official oppression.
Middleton dismissed it. I thought it was a political payoff to Rodney Ellis then; I still do.
“If I was an asshole every time a complaint was filed, I would make it public. I’m not doing that. If you want to lose that luxury, that protection, just let me know; I will blast all of this shit,” said DA Brian Middleton.
Middleton talked to Taral Patel about several complaints against public officials, including KP George, before Middleton’s office investigated him.
“He ought to appreciate what I’ve done for him, instead of complaining about it. Have you been to the newspaper? Does anyone other than you know about the Investigation?” said DA Middleton.
Middleton just likes to give advice.
“KP needs some classes on friendship and loyalty,” said DA Brian Middleton.
Makes you wonder what loyalty really buys in Fort Bend.
When he doesn’t know you’re listening, Middleton compares himself to Kim Ogg, the former democratic DA voted out of office by Democrats after she dared to call in the rangers to investigate fellow democrats Rodney Ellis and Lina Hidalgo.
“Kim Ogg throws people under the bus using her power to punish people I don’t do that, but if he likes that better, that’s fine; we can do that,” said DA Middleton.
Ibrahim Kwahaja is Middleton’s chief of staff; look at his text to Taral Patel, another message for KP George.
“Brian is livid with KP right now, and we can’t have this crap going on the week before election,” said Ibrahim Kwahaja.
That was four years ago.
“KP was upset with me because he wanted me to participate in a commercial that I refused to do. Because I had him under investigation,” said DA Brian Middleton.
Middleton and his chief didn’t mention that, just another piece of advice.
“Please advise KP to rehabilitate his relationship with Brian. Brian has a real conflict of interest issue and has bent over backwards,” said Ibrahim Kwahaja.
Translation from Middleton’s opponent.
“You need to tell KP to shut up and better fix this relationship, or it’s going to go south,” said Shawn McDonald.
Well, it certainly went south.
Middleton was forced to launch an investigation into the fake hate scandal after Republican County Commissioner Andy Myers filed a formal complaint.
“He never wanted to try it because he’s part of it,” said KP George.
KP George was not taken to trial for his part in the Democratic fake hate scandal. George was tried for money laundering.
He tried to expose Middleton, but few voters have ever heard the recording or seen the text.
George was convicted of money laundering, he was sentenced to 180 days in jail, five years of probation, and a five-thousand-dollar fine. 200 hours of community service.
George was politically slaughtered when he ran for reelection, this time as a republican.
“Middleton is part of all this stuff, man. 100 percent he’s part of it,” said KP George.
George declined an on-camera interview. He did not know I recorded his phone call.
And Taral Patel, charged with multiple felonies. He pled guilty in April of 2025 to just a couple of misdemeanors, got two years deferred, and can avoid jail altogether because he’s in a diversion program.
A slap on the wrist for a guy who scared an entire community.
That allows Brian Middleton’s office to keep all the evidence out of the public view, until after the election.
Makes you wonder too why the Texas Rangers never pursued an investigation of Middleton and other Democratic politicians to examine their role, if any, in this fake hate nonsense.
If Brian Middleton wants the truth out there. He should release all the evidence they have. Voters deserve to see just how compromised Middleton is. There are too many.
Taral Patel and KP George were busted, and they should have been, but by his own admission… Brian Middleton was close friends with Patel. Livid with KP George.
Personal and political relationships, that’s not a recipe for justice.
“Did Taral Patel get a slap on the wrist because of what he knew about the DA,” said Wayne Dolcefino.
“I think there is an argument for that; the bigger concern for me is that some cases are being held over his head that are keeping Taral Patel from coming forward with information he has on Brian Middleton,” said Shawn McDonald.
“You don’t do this for free,” said DA Middleton.
“Well, you want to donate to our cause, Middleton, fair enough,” said DA Middleton.
The tapes spoke for themselves; what will voters decide?
“We’re talking about the elected DA in Fort Bend County behaving like a gangster in a racketeering case, threatening retaliation unless you do what he wants. That’s exactly right,” experts from FOX 26.
“Don’t even try to portray me as a racist. I love everyone; you can stop that,” said DA Middleton.
“At this point, Taral fuck it, I’m just fed up,” said DA Middleton.
“Do what you have to do,” said Taral Patel.
“Unrequited shit. Everyone can kiss my ass as far as I’m concerned,” said DA Brian Middleton.
