The search for Emma Stokes will intensify in the Denver area Friday, with dozens of volunteers set to gather late this afternoon to try to find the missing 16-year-old Sherman, Texas teenager.
Stokes and another 16-year-old girl, Anna Frankman, left a home they were staying at as part of an intense mental health therapy program at the Institute for Attachment and Child Development in Littleton, Colorado. Their departure triggered an alarm at the home and the Sheriff’s office immediately responded.
A search by the Park County Sheriff’s Office led canine officers to Highway 285. That’s where the trail ends. This morning, there is a report from law enforcement the girls may have been spotted in Conifer, Colorado, just Southwest of Denver. Sheriff’s officials plan to review security camera video near the highway where the girls’ trail ended.
Emma’s desperate parents have traveled from Texas and are coordinating the search for their daughter from Colorado Springs.
Emma was being treated with significant medicine to help her. Obviously her parents are deeply worried that she could be in danger.
“We need everyone in the Denver area to please look at my little girl’s picture and call law enforcement immediately,” says Jerry Stokes.
Later this afternoon, at 5 p.m., the parents will be joined by dozens of volunteers to continue the search in Lone Tree, Colorado.
“Anybody who has a family member with significant mental health challenges will understand why we have to find Emma. In the meantime, her family wants everyone to pray for her,” says Wayne Dolcefino, President of Dolcefino Consulting.
