“In corpus Christi Texas wave been chasing folks,” says Dolcefino.
“I’m lying?” said George Holland.
“You’re lying because you’re getting paid.” said Wayne.
“Thet’s why I’m lying.” said Holland.
“That was the auditor,” said Holland.
“And I don’t talk on camera.” said Myles
“The city attorney.” said Dolcefino.
“Now it’s the city manager on the hot seat.” said Dolcefino.
“It’s gone poof its gone poof.” said Dolcefino.
“They look like clowns. it’s a clown show.” said Dolcefino.
“This is the dimension of imagination” said Dolcefino.
“The mayor calls it a modern-day twilight zone.” said Wayne.
“Open you unlock this door with the key to imagination… another dimension”
“It’s unbelievable.” said Wayne.
“Standup the corpus Christi cathedral is where folks around here come for a sense of renewal. and it is what city planners are hoping the Homewood suites would do for this section of corpus,” said Wayne.
“The hotel replaced buildings that used to be home to vagrants… new business for lucy’s coffee shop and the beer drinkers at the executive surf club on north chaparral street.” said Wayne.
“We’re certain we are getting every bit of the traffic for everyone that stays here.” said Wayne.
“Good news… but not to this guy… Ajit David… Homewood’s biggest competitor.” said Wayne.
“I sued the city after city staff investigated and told me and council and testified that this was a scheme to procure tax dollars the word scheme was not my words.” said Wayne.
“The only problem with that narrative is that it is simply untrue” said Dolcefino.
“He must feel that downtown corpus Christi is only big enough for one hotel” said Dolcefino.
“And it all involved one single document… the dates on a FEMA press release were covered up with text boxes.” said Wayne.
“The FBI the Texas rangers said there was no crime… so did the cities outside lawyers.” said Wayne.
“It’s a formatting error there was no intention to deceive anybody,” said Mr. Martinez.
“But council has refused to accept that it was an honest mistake… they voted the Homewood suites folks violated their contract.” said Wayne.
“This was one of twilight zone’s best episodes… nightmare at 20,000 feet…” said Wayne.
“A young William Shatner seeing a monster on the wing..” said Wayne.
“We’ve been exposing the nightmare at corpus Christi city hall.” said Wayne.
“I thought I saw something out there”
“But the city’s economic board has now sent a very clear message.” says Dolcefino.
“Approving the two-million-dollar tax incentive again… with a resolution that told city council their narrative was false.” said Dolcefino.
“No supporting facts… and warned council not to interfere again… warning council was creating “substantial barriers to business and economic development” harming the city’s reputation.” said Wayne.
“There is a man out there what”
“Ladies and gentlemen hi welcome in.,” said Wayne.
“We checked in to the new hotel on our latest trip to corpus.” said Wayne.
“I am not imagining it,” said Wayne.
“And before your conspiracy freaks jump in… we paid full price… here’s the bill.” said Wayne.
“I’ve looked at this pretty hard.” said Wayne
“Yeah.” said Zanoni
“I do not understand for the life of me on what basis would these guys hide something when they have emails, they were working with the city.” said Wayne
“We didn’t get these new records from the city of corpus Christi. they’ve been illegally trying to keep so many records from you through ridiculous cost estimates.” said Wayne.
“The city wants to charge us ten thousand dollars to look at some phone records.” said Dolcefino.
“Seems the city wants to get sued.” said Dolcefino.
“We got these important documents from these guys… the frustrated developers of the new hotel.” said Dolcefino.
“We’re the ones that have to live with this bullshit every day,” said Wayne.
“And these documents prove hotels developers were working for months with city staff on the new flood rules…,” said Wayne.
“Long before they first asked for the tax incentives in September of 2023.” said Wayne.
“Emails with city employees in development services…,” said Wayne.
“They report to the city manager… how could Zanoni have investigated and not know that?” said Wayne.
“Were you aware of all the communications with city staff…,” said Wayne
“Not so much no,” said Wayne.
“Internal company records we were given show developers were first told by the city of possible flood prevention issues in early February of 2o23. that is what Homewood architect Phillip Ramirez swore under oath.” says Wayne.
“I go back to the first time we were made aware that preliminary or not was that the property fell in flood zone was that February meeting with the city” says Wayne.
“The records confirm elevate engaged an engineer to find out whether the hotel would be in the new flood plain.” said Wayne.
“Internally they thought it was likely.” says Wayne.
“I’ll entertain a motion to approve item number 21,” said the judge.
“City council had voted on the new feme rules in October of 2022 in a single reading… trying to avoid losing federal flood insurance.” says Wayne.
“Maybe the developers didn’t read the paper the next day… is that a crime too?” said Wayne.
“He is out there don’t look”
“After the meeting with the city three months later the engineer figured out a potential fix… floodwalls… but elevate was asking for clarification from the city to make sure they could get their permit with that design… emails from April of 2023 prove that.” said Wayne.
“Even the city’s floodplain manager at the time… Kathleen Chapa… wasn’t sure what the new rules meant.” says Wayne.
“Look at this email from May of 2023 she sent to feme.” said Wayne.
“It is my first flood proofing project and want to make sure i get it right” said Wayne.
“It explains why the hotel developers couldn’t figure out how much extra it was all going to cost… in the end it didn’t matter to the type b board.” said Wayne.
“It was no secret… they didn’t want to set a precedent… pay for their flood proofing costs and everyone else would want the same deal… makes sense.” says Wayne.
“The reason the board agreed that this was a worthwhile project is not because of all the feme flood plain requirements but because we saw this as a capstone project in the downtown area to spur other development,” said Olivari.
“The city manager was sitting right there… he knows that.” says Wayne.
“The other big allegation was that the developers of the Homewood suites knew long before they said they did about the flood plain change… that’s why they covered up the date on the slide… got it” says Wayne.
“At our request developers showed us internal minutes from their team meetings… not a mention of a floodplain issue once.” said Wayne.
“Why would there be… it was the first new construction downtown in a long time.” says Wayne.
“And it doesn’t matter because it was long before they asked for the tax incentives.” said Wayne.
“Which brings us back to the city manager… he’s compromised.” said Wayne.
“We already knew from a p-card audit Zanoni had been wined and dined by Ajit.” said Wayne.
“That he flew on Raju bhagat’s plane… Ajit’s partner… to help them fix a permit problem in another hotel development in Austin.” said Wayne.
“That’s why the timeline is so important here… why it raises so many ethics questions… why we’ve said so many public officials’ relationships with Ajit David and his lawyer Doug Allison is what really needs to be investigated.” said Wayne
“Ajit first complained to the city auditor in august of 2024… filed a lawsuit days later.” said Wayne.
“But it was a full year later when the auditor issued this memo to city council.” said Wayne
“It was august 21, 2025… a day earlier George holland had returned to work after being punished for mistreating employees.” says Wayne.
“His lawyer was Doug Allison… Ajit’s lawyer… city council has refused to investigate whether Allison provided the legal help for free… possibly in exchange for that memo.” says Wayne.
“Since Doug Allison likes to quote criminal statutes how about these bribery and corrupt influence… abuse of office.” said Wayne.
“We want to see the supporting documents that gave holland the right to even suggest this was fraud. and not an honest mistake.” said Wayne.
“We know one thing… the auditor’s investigation was horribly one sided.” said Wayne.
“The auditor never called before he Didi his report.” said Ramirez.
“no one seems to have a report detailing the investigation that led the auditor to spark so much drama… to this day the city manager has never bothered to even ask to see it.” said Wayne.
“no one’s ever asked to see the actual work that they did to come up with that conclusion doesn’t that seem odd.” said Wayne.
“There is a man out there” says William Shatner.
“But there’s something else that should tell you Doug Allison and the auditor were clearly teaming up.” said Wayne.
“August 20th, 2025, was the day Homewood suites architect Philip Ramirez was put under oath in the lawsuit against the city.” said Wayne.
“They spent a lot of time counting how many computers keystrokes it took to hide the dates on the now infamous FEMA press release.” said Wayne.
“The next day… the auditor’s memo was revealed at city hall…,” said Wayne.
“One of the only specific details included.” says Wayne.
“The effort to conceal the hidden information would have required at least 8-10 intentional computer key or keypad strokes,” said Wayne.
“Wonder where holland got that info.” said Wayne.
“We think taxpayers deserve to see the auditor’s full investigation immediately. and that’s why we plan to file a criminal complaint with the Nueces County district attorney next week based in part by statements of a former auditor.” said Wayne.
“We also know the city manager can order the release of phone records and emails… he hasn’t,” said Wayne.
“City councilman Gil Hernandez is leading the fight to cancel the tax incentive for Homewood suites.” said Wayne.
“He claims campaign cash from Ajit’s companies are unrelated to the hotel fight… but it’s hard to ignore the timing.” said Wayne.
“The day after Ajit’s complaint to the auditor Hernandez got 1500 dollars from Ajit’s company… a month later another 1000.” said Wayne.
“Hernandez was chair of the audit committee at the time,” said Wayne.
“here’s the bottom line… we think the real scandal in corpus is how man public officials there are carrying water for Ajit David and Doug Allison.” said Wayne.
“Maybe it’s really about who will eventually get the billion-dollar contracts for desal plants.” said Wayne.
“We in the meantime are investigating whether David cheated taxpayers on building permits… council has promised a review… where is it?” said Wayne.
“And he’s charging the city an arm and a legal and two fingers.” said Cantu.
“Instead, council keeps fueling the monster cost of a developer’s jealousy.” said Wayne.
“They just voted to fire the lawyer they have already paid half a million dollars to defend the lawsuit filed by Ajit David… ignoring his advice to fight.” said Wayne.
“And the mayor’s warning.” said Wayne.
“It is not in the best interest of this city.” said Guajardo.
“The vote marred by more of the kindergarten bickering that defines this city council.” said Wayne.
“Doug Allison reportedly wants nearly 400,000 in legal fees to settle the case… still trying to take the tax money away from the Homewood suites.” said Wayne.
“That would set the stage for another lawsuit.” said Wayne.
“I think the vindication will come through obviously a squashing of the lawsuit.” said Ramirez.
“To try and kill our incentive is a huge step for us,” said Ramirez
“You are moving into a land of shadow and substance”
“Council members should explain to taxpayers why they clearly want to pay Doug Allison off and give Ajit David what he wants.” said Wayne
“Still pushing a scandal that has been debunked by new records.” said Wayne.
“It seems like the whole city is compromised.” said Guajardo
“I know what you know and the perception of it is not good,” said Wayne.
