The Kitchen Sink
VIDEO COMING SOON! East Texas Judge Travis Kitchens has faced complaints, reprimands, and growing criticism. Is it finally time to throw the kitchen sink at Judge Kitchens?
We have our eyes on you, Judge Travis Kitchens. We’ve been investigating Texas Judge Travis Kitchens.
The judge serves three counties: Polk, San Jacinto, and Trinity.
We hear Judge Kitchens’ courtroom is more like a kitchen sink, full of dirty dishes.
“He said, ‘What don’t you f-ing understand?’ cursing in public court. His bailiff was like, ‘Yeah, that’s how things run around here,’” said Terri Hackl.
East Texas Judge Travis Kitchens has been the subject of numerous complaints and serious reprimands by the Judicial Conduct Commission.
“I think that two admonishments this year, and more grievances still being filed, tell you something. The way he talks to attorneys, takes their cases out of his court, and tells county clerks not to assign a certain attorney’s cases to him, that’s so unprofessional,” said Terri Hackl.
Including this woman, Terri Hackl.
She’s a nationally certified victims advocate, but not in Judge Kitchens’ court.
“I’ve never been treated so disrespectfully in a court, never in my life. I’ve never not been recognized as an expert,” said Terri Hackl.
She spoke in Austin before the State Commission on Judicial Conduct about Kitchens.
“I believe Judge Kitchens needs to get off the bench. He’s been there too long, and he thinks he can do whatever he wants because it’s his courtroom,” said Terri Hackl.
Should we throw the kitchen sink at Judge Kitchens?
