Double Crossed
NEW VIDEO! Will South Texas megachurch pastor Jaime Loya come clean with his congregation? He has another chance this Sunday at Cross Church. One thing is certain: he’s now decided not to face our questions amidst allegations of fraud. We’ve been DOUBLE CROSSED.
Double Crossed
“In Jesus name, I pray that the Holy Spirit will empower you,” Jaime Loya said.
South Texas megachurch Pastor Jaime Loya was in church Mother’s Day.
His wife, the first lady of Cross Church, Rose Mary Loya, did the sermon.
“Are you listening? First step is put God first,” Rose Mary Loya said.
Online, the sermon was followed with a pitch for money. They even take Cash App at Cross Church.
“That sacrifice is worship onto God. Honoring God the Lord with our tithe of ten percent. Honoring God with an offering isn’t just sacrificing, hear me church, it’s worship,” J Allen Mendoza said.
“But missing from the sermon on Mother’s Day was any mention of the growing controversy swirling around the church,” Wayne Dolcefino told the camera.
Allegations of fraud in the building of the church in Mission.
The pastor not paying a lot of small businessmen who helped build it.
Questions about what happened to millions of dollars in donations raised for the new church.
Cross Church executive pastor Juan De La Garza just won his re-election as a judge in Hidalgo County.
“We wanted to know how Judge De La Garza felt about the allegations against the church, how former pastors were treated. But he’s been ignoring our calls,” Peyton Heussner told the camera.
Attorney John Rigney is defending Pastor Loya against these growing complaints in court. On Facebook, during his failed campaign for Congress, Rigney and Pastor and Judge De La Garza are in family photos.
A former San Antonio Cross Church pastor says all these allegations should be addressed.
“And I believe that God and his sovereign love is going to expose Jaime and Eric,” Brandon Bravo said.
“For months we’ve been trying to get the pastor to agree to an interview, even offering the chance to record it himself so he could make sure that when we finally did our story, we didn’t misquote him,” Dolcefino told the camera.
The pastor had a lot of conditions. In an email we got back on April 10th, including a requirement that we allow him to edit our story.
And then include his reading of God’s plan and prayer of salvation.
“April 14th. There were more conditions, the pastor wanted to be able to approve not only the edited version but the un-edited interview we would do with him before he would give his consent for us to publish anything. That wasn’t going to happen,” Dolcefino told the camera.
On May 7, after our Prophet of Profit story, we offered the pastor another chance to interview.
And pastor Loya wanted to know who hired us to investigate the church in the first place. We didn’t tell him.
His last email said an interview was out of the question, and he closed with this.
“I will keep you in my prayers and hope that you get better soon.”
“Hey Pastor, I’m just fine. You’re the one who should address your congregation, even if you don’t talk to me. And tell them what’s happened to all the millions of dollars they donated for that new church. Do it Sunday. We’ll be watching,” Dolcefino told the camera.
