Embattled Houston Real Estate Developer Ali Choudhri has been charged with a felony after running from West U police. Guess who bailed him out of jail?

Wait for it.  Harris County’s 333rd District Court Judge Brittanye Morris. You just can’t make this stuff up.

The Choudhri arrest came just a few days after Dolcefino Consulting released an audio tape that implicated the Pakistani businessman in apparent fraud in connection with his highly publicized divorce case several years ago.

We raised questions about Choudhri’s relationship with Judge Morris months ago. After she was elected to the 333rd District Court, she ruled in favor of Choudhri in a real estate lawsuit.  Campaign records showed Choudhri’s associates had helped bankroll Judge Morris’ campaign. Then Dolcefino Consulting revealed text messages showing Judge Morris did work for Choudhri’s company just before taking the bench and had no business ruling on any lawsuit involving him. Morris had to be removed from the case.

West University Police say Choudhri was traveling at a high rate of speed over the weekend and tried to evade police. He was released from Harris County Jail on a $2,500 bond. Jail documents show Judge Morris posted the bond.

“This further proves that Judge Morris had a relationship with Mr. Choudhri and was willing to throw ethics out the window to help him in the lawsuits pending in her court,” said Wayne Dolcefino, President of Dolcefino Consulting. “ We said it months ago – this Judge should resign or be removed.”

What kind of trouble will Ali Choudhri get in next? Stay tuned.
