A COMPROMISED DA: The Betrayal

We expect a District Attorney to dispense justice regardless of politics. But after listening to secret phone calls and texts it’s clear DA Brian Middleton has failed that test. We’ve exposed A COMPROMISED DA and his BETRAYAL.

A COMPROMISED DA: The Betrayal

We exposed the fake hate scandal in Fort Bend County, Texas.

A Democratic campaign to convince The South Asian Community Republicans were racists.

We were asked to investigate what DA Brian Middleton knew about it all.

But the DA’s soft on crime betrayal of a domestic violence victim comes first.

“Her 17-year-old found her body and called 9-1-1 at 3 o’clock this morning,” said KHOU news reporter.

38-year-old Coralyn Hunt was shot to death two years ago near Bissonnet street.

Police found her seven-year-old son asleep next to her in a pool of blood.

“Who shot and killed 38-year-old Coralyn Vershae Hunt and why?”
said local KPRC news reporter.

Investigators identified her ex-boyfriend, Anthony Sorel Haywood as the guy who gunned her down.

Haywood was sentenced to life in prison.

“Working every day to keep our community safe,” said DA Brian Middleton in a campaign video.

That was 2018 when Brian Middleton won office. Prosecutors like to tell folks when criminals are convicted.

He said he was “honored to speak for Coralyn Hunt during this trial” that was May, just five months ago.

“But the DA left something out. He had the chance to speak for and protect Coralyn Hunt while she was very much still alive. His office failed her,” said Wayne Dolcefino.

“Did you fail Coralyn Hunt?” said Andrea Palacio.

“I don’t even know who that is, who is Coralyn Hunt?” said DA Brian Middleton.

Just 15 months before Coralyn was killed, she did what all battered women should do.

She called 911.

“What’s going on?” said the responding officer.

“I don’t want to be with him, and he got mad and so he just slung me around.” said Corolyn Hunt.

Coralyn was talking about that very same Anthony Haywood.

There he was, the big guy was standing just feet away from Coralyn as she talks to the deputy.

The deputy convinces Haywood to leave, at least for the night.

“That’s just my job, if you weren’t to leave her tonight and something would happen it would be my career,” said the officer.

“If we have to come back here if something again then someone is going to jail,” said the officer.

It’s not until after Haywood leaves that Coralyn breaks down.

“I’m just so tired. I’m trying so hard to make a better life for myself and it’s just like every time I get a little step up, I got to be thrown back down,” said Carolyn Hunt.

She begins to show and tell the deputy the full extent of what happened.

“He hit you two, three times in the back of the neck and he threw you down,”

“Yes, and then that’s when he picked us up and he said, bitch,” said Coralyn Hunt.

“And hit you,” said the officer.

“Yes,” said Coralyn Hunt.

“And that’s probably how you got the scrapes on then,” said the officer.

And we learn Anthony has her gun, and she’s worried he could use it.

“I can put in a report that you’re currently not in possession of your gun. If he was to do something with it, you’re not a part of that, that’s what you’re trying to tell me, correct.” said the officer.

And this wasn’t the first time, Anthony had already served two prison sentences, one for robbery, the other aggravated sexual assault of a child.

On January 27, 2023, the sheriff’s office asked the Fort Bend County DA to file family violence charges against Haywood.

If convicted, he would have been in prison in a heartbeat.

But it was on a Friday, and Brian Middleton’s office didn’t respond. It was a weekend; they got to it on Monday.

And there’s something worse, the response from the DA’s office came in the form of a handwritten note, refile it as a class C misdemeanor it read.

Wait a minute, that’s the lowest possible crime you could charge, speeding tickets could cost more.

That’s not a slap on the wrist, that’s a joke, a cruel one at that.

Coralyn already suspected what her future might look like. It was captured on the deputy’s body camera and it’s prophetic.

“But if I come up dead, I know he did it. He had my gun,” said Coralyn Hunt.

Coralyn’s story disappeared from the media like most crimes do, the next day.

But two years later she is becoming a symbol in the campaign to unseat Brian Middleton.

“So, the DAs office let a registered sex offender who’d been to prison with clear evidence he threatened to kill a young lady and kicked her door in and beat with a board and they rejected it,” said Shawn McDonald.

We learned of Coralyn’s story from Shawn McDonald, the former municipal judge and defense lawyer trying to get Middleton out of office this November, the McDonald campaign hired us to investigate his opponent.

“I’ve had victim after victim after victim reach out to me and say the system has failed me in fort bend county please help us,” said Shawn McDonald.

Failed them because of soft on crime policies, is that why Anthony Haywood was free to kill Coralyn?

“How is it possible you didn’t fail her?” said Andrea Palacio.

“You can have your own opinion, but you can’t have your own facts,” said DA Middleton.

“Brian Middleton is one of those Soros funded DAs and the stats bear up what has resulted,” said Shawn McDonald.

Since January 1, 2025, McDonald claims 138 strangulation cases submitted to the fort bend DA’s office were dismissed, and not because of grand jury.

Summarily dismissed by prosecutors, that’s two thirds.

“And then you know what’s next vote for them, well my response is we are tired of racism too,” said DA Brian Middleton.

The Fort Bend County District Attorney’s office posted this clip but has since deleted it.

“Don’t let them take us 133 years back,” said DA Brian Middleton.

Now it’s being used against Middleton by Fort Bend conservative PAC.

It’s not secret Brian Middleton got into office with a windfall of campaign money from George Soros.

A ton of money, way more than half a million dollars. Many counties have learned a lesson.

Half of the Soros anointed prosecutors have already lost their job since 2022.

“It is an experiment that has failed nationwide and our communities has suffered because of it,” said Shawn McDonald.

“The dismissal rates are forty-five more than they were complete collapse and misdemeanor trials, and we have intake now that is taking years for cases to move through because they’re not taking the word of law enforcement,” said Shawn McDonald.

Perhaps folks who care about the epidemic of family violence should pay attention.

And I doubt you’ll ever see this in a Brian Middleton campaign video.

“Strangulation cases submitted to the DAs office from law enforcement two thirds were dismissed without any grand jury action just summarily dismissed,” said Shawn McDonald.

Maybe that’s why kicking down a door, whacking around your girlfriend, and putting a gun to her head is only worthy of a punishment like a traffic ticket.

After the candidate refused an on-camera interview, we went early on a Saturday morning to find him, preparing for the DA’s bike ride for domestic violence victims.

The tradition started by the last DA.

“She was the woman who was killed by a guy you could have locked up,” said Andrea Palacio.

Middleton knows about Coralyn Hunt, when pressed he blamed one of his prosecutors.

“You’re going to blame someone else for doing that,” said Andrea Palacio.

“No, you said I did it. I didn’t do it,” said DA Brian Middleton.

“He has expanded victim services and demanded transparency and accountability from the district attorney’s office,” said in a Brian Middleton commercial.

We don’t know how closely Middleton is coordinating with the Soros folks this year, but you won’t believe who was serving as a go between four years ago.

That’s right Taral Patel, who orchestrated that campaign of fake hate on social media we exposed, peddling racist attacks on himself and fellow South Asians by fake conservative posters.

Patel was later charged with a crime.

What followed was an investigation and conviction of now former county judge KP George.

In court documents, George’s lawyer recounts what Patel told investigators.

That a lot of democratic officials and democratic operatives knew about this fake racism plot.

One of the fake profiles Patel used was this one, Jennifer Tremaine.

See it mentions who Jennifer, I mean Taral, calls “brainless Middleton”.

“If I knew he was behind that post, I would have been madding all those lies, false narrative about me knowing about what Taral Patel was doing was absolutely false,” said DA Brian Middleton.

You’re about to hear a recorded phone call between Patel, and the DA.

and that’s why we interviewed Shawn McDonald in the first place.

“we’ve received some damning evidence against the current elected DA and other elected officials in fort bend county,” said Shawn McDonald.

Stay tuned for those bombshells, but Coralyn’s story, it was the one we felt you needed to hear first.

Coralyn’s mother Veda Chambers believes her daughter could very well still be alive today if Brian Middleton had jailed and prosecuted Anthony Haywood after that night so many months before he killed her.

McDonald’s research says the stats show Coralyn will likely not be the last Fort Bend woman who pays a price.

The DA’s office under Brian Middleton is reportedly rejecting more than forty percent more complaints of misdemeanor domestic violence than the last DA did.

That’s not the grand jury; that’s the DA’s office when the complaints are first made.

“Your prosecutions are way down sir and that’s nothing you can hide from,” said Andrea Palacio.

“Do you ever think about if your daughter could still be alive if they hadn’t have dismissed this previous case and set him free?” said Peyton Heussner.

“She could possibly well be, if they’d have locked his tail up at that time,” said Veda Chambers.
