Woodlands attorney Mary Van Orman has taken notice of our Family Injustice Investigation. And she’s helping prove why the State Bar of Texas ought to take notice too.
Van Orman already faces a possible stay in jail in Montgomery County for refusing to pay a fine imposed by Judge Tracy Gilbert for being wholly rude and unprofessional to Conroe Attorney Katherine Bihm.
Last week, an attorney in New Iberia, Louisiana sought a protective order against Van Orman. Attorney Sy Shamsie calls Van Orman a nightmare.
Van Orman is his own lawyer in a civil lawsuit. For those who have met Van Orman, the legal filing will sound familiar.
“Van Orman’s behavior is both erratic and unusual,” Shamsie writes.
We’ve been reporting on Van Orman for months, criticizing her conduct in the Menger divorce case. Van Orman wants a new trial for her client Marek Menger,
because she had to argue the entering of the final decree over a phone call, claiming she couldn’t show up in person and was forced to be in court in two different
counties at the same time. Unfortunately for Ms. Van Orman, Dolcefino Consulting actually checked. She wasn’t telling the truth.
We already planned on attending the Menger hearing this week, but last Thursday, a delivery service called our office saying they had a package for Wayne Dolcefino.
A few minutes later a process server for Van Orman showed up instead and threatened our staff with criminal charges when he wasn’t available to accept the
“package.”
“The next day I invited Van Orman’s flunky to come to my office again and try that threatening thing on me, and even though the subpoena didn’t meet the
requirements of the law, I plan to come and will be glad to tell the judge that Ms. Van Orman is using the color of her court to play games,” says Dolcefino, Presidentof Dolcefino Consulting.
Van Orman wants Dolcefino to bring documents showing that he’s been hired by Sherry Menger to say mean things about her.
“I don’t think I have ever met Sherry Menger in my life, and she is not one of the people who privately fund my investigative media company to expose fools like
Ms. Van Orman – who frankly gives lawyers a bad name, which is admittedly hard to do,” said Dolcefino.
See you in court Mary. Hopefully, Judge Lisa Millard will do her job, and tell you to stop stalling justice with silly little personal games.
