Circle Jerk
When we put “CIRCLE JERK” in the title of our newest investigation you know you got to watch. It’s time to see what those DAMN LAWYERS are up to!
CIRCLE JERK
You guys know I like putting movie clips in our investigations. You got to have a little fun… But when I looked for movies for the title of our latest damn lawyer’s investigation all I found was adult movies… That’s because this report is called the circle jerk.
Come on folks… Get your mind out of the gutter… A circle jerk isn’t just a sexual term. look it up.
“Mr. Borunda, can we talk to you?” said Andrea Palacio.
Maybe I’ve been all wrong about Houston probate lawyer Jorge Borunda.
It was about the money wasn’t it.
Look at this great review Borunda recently got on yelp…
“Wonderful lawyer great to work with.”
Sounds like a happy client… Or a fellow attorney.
So, let’s take a closer look shall we.
The review was posted April 1st… A few weeks after we started telling you about the Allisons.
“We’re family and these attorneys come into our lives, and they just started a war that never had to happen,” said Carolina Allison.
The Allisons have been waging an uphill but important fight against their lawyers.
Claiming Borunda and two other lawyers Nick Abaza and Michael Trevino played them to get millions from their dead father’s estate.
A plan hatched once the lawyers figured out just how rich daddy really was.
“I want it to be common knowledge that attorney’s prey on families, and they love inheritances because dead people can’t defend themselves,” said Caroline Allison.
Caroline was paying hourly to try and get her stepmom to share just what dad left for her and her brother.
“Our ex-attorneys took advantage of our naivete,” said Caroline Allison.
Borunda convinced her to end the hourly payments… And sign a contingency agreement instead.
What Caroline didn’t realize it would set the lawyers up for millions of dollars… A huge chunk of the inheritance.
“Jorge Borunda told me I would go bankrupt paying for a trial those words stuck with me,” said Caroline Allison.
They later learned their father had guaranteed their inheritance in a trust they didn’t have to sue anyone… Their inheritance was guaranteed.
The lawyers presented them more than a three-million-dollar bill… And they have been fighting ever since to expose the damn lawyers… They even have a website damnlawyers.com.
The state bar has rejected their complaints.
“I mean families shouldn’t have to put up with this. These lawyers are professionals and when they lie cheat and steal, they should be held accountable,” said Caroline Allison.
Borunda… Abaza… Trevino. They deny doing anything wrong.
But they’ve tried to hide from us from the very beginning.
We almost missed Abaza… He doesn’t look much like his AI profile.
“You’re supposed to give them advice for what’s best for them not what’s best for you,” said Andrea Palacio.
Caroline had found attorney Nick Abaza first… Like most of us do… She looked on the internet… Checked reviews.
We asked a lawyer we respect to help us expose the circle jerk.
“The people looking for a lawyer are vulnerable… They are vulnerable because they’re afraid. They’re frustrated, they are stressed and they are looking for someone they think is going to relieve that stress,” said John Lagrappe.
“I wouldn’t have hired Borunda and Abaza from the outset if I saw bad reviews and that Abaza had nearly a five-star rating,” said Caroline Allison.
That’s why this recent review caught our eye…It talks about “‘how hard Borunda works for his clients.”
Maybe he’s not a damn lawyer after all.
But luckily the picture of Jennifer W is right there on yelp for us all to see…
And guess what… The picture it looks exactly like Jorge Borunda’s wife… Jennifer Borunda… I mean exactly.
And looky here… We discover that Jennifer Borunda’s maiden name is Jennifer Waters… Jennifer W.
“And its dishonest because the person may not be aware that there a family member and they think it’s a client,” said John Lagrappe.
That review may violate federal law… The federal trade commission imposed new rules on reviews back in august 2024.
And Jorge’s wife’s review is part of an FTC complaint Caroline Allison has now filed.
We’re happy Jorge’s wife likes him… But he needs to disclose their matrimonial bliss.
And look on google… There’s Jennifer Borunda… But she’s not posting on Hubby’s review this time.
She’s giving five stars to Borunda legal associate Nick Abaza. Excellent work she says.
“Nick Abaza is the lead guy… He reels in the fish and he does it through google,” said Caroline Allison.
And who helped Nick Abaza get those five-star ratings.
It was a family affair. Writing reviews was part of his family business.
Caroline has done a ton of research, and you can find reviews done by three young people who are also the children of Nick Abaza.
One of his kids says this…
The reviews are gone now… But yelp archives reviews.
“I mean it’s just gotten crazy out there.”
Because it turns out there are a lot of damn lawyers out there… What a shock.
A recent study showed more than a third of lawyer testimonials are likely written by AI… creating all kinds of ethical issue.
and it should make you wonder if any review can really be trusted.
“What the fc is saying is you can’t make fake reviews you can’t buy fake review you can’t have your mom make fake reviews you can’t bully fake reviews,” said Nick Thompson.
What about getting your kids to pump you up… The Allisons complaints to the FTC say that’s one of the ways Nick Abaza boosted his ratings.
They are removed now… But look at old reviews Caroline found.
He got five stars from someone named Bennett; He helped our family with a massive estate problem affecting our inheritance.
He’s got a son named Bennett.
And he got five stars from Crissy Abaza… That’s his wife.
Abaza even reviewed himself… Gave himself five stars… He likes himself.
“So we have written complaints into the FTC the attorney general were going to be submitting complaint to yelp and to google because of fake reviews,” said Caroline Allison.
And it usually takes a lawyer one nasty letter to google to get a bad review eliminated.
Property management put a bad google review on the law offices of Nicholas Abaza.
That’s Caroline Allison… Warning read the fine print… My experience with Nicholas Abaza is one of the costliest mistakes I ever made.
The bad review is now gone… But not because Caroline pulled it.
And what about this one from the same account… Borunda is a zealous advocate for his wallet… He put his interests before my interests.
When someone named zealous posted a bad review on yelp it got removed too.
“I gave them a one-star review they didn’t like it,” said Caroline Allison.
When Gail Echols posted a bad review… The lawyers tried unsuccessfully to get it removed from YouTube, but there are plenty of bad reviews that are now gone.
But the FTC doesn’t have an army to enforce the nonsense that’s going on… Have picked a few alleged bad apples to send warning letters.
The Allisons malpractice lawsuit against the three lawyers was required to go to arbitration… No jury.
Turned out Borunda didn’t even have malpractice insurance.
And the arbitrator who decided their malpractice case punished them even further… The tab now more than four million dollars.
Turns out, former judge Anne Ashby was steeped in conflicts of interest. many were not disclosed until deep into the lawsuit… Some weren’t disclosed at all.
Ashby has been removed from the triple AAA arbitration website…
The state bar is investigating.
The Allisons have now asked Harris County judge Cory Sepolio to re-examine the decision…Through what’s called a bill of review.
They are asking the Texas supreme court to step in too.
“It does show all the conflicts that were discovered out of the Dolcefino investigation, and the judge should take this seriously and see this is as a big issue,” said Rich Allison
Caroline wants lawyers to be forced to have malpractice… Insurance or at least disclose when they don’t.
And she went to the state republican convention to push for Robins law.
It would eliminate contingency deals in probate cases… Like they are in other family cases.
“Convention center interview June what we discovered in our case is that our attorneys gave us advice based on what was good for them not what was god for us,” said Caroline Allison.
The lawyers are trying to get their millions… Hiring a receiver to get into the Allisons trust account.
His name Seth Nichamoff… And he’s their buddy too.
His review of Abaza’s law office was five stars… I’ve consulted him on estate and trust issues for my personal situation he was a great help.
Remember our unscheduled interview with Mr. Abaza. Look at the name on the office door, its Seth Nicamoff.
Doesn’t that create a conflict of interest in the Allisons case… It wouldn’t be the first.
Fighting a war against lawyers isn’t easy… The media tends to fear them… And state bar complaints go nowhere, but damn lawyers need to be exposed.
And glowing reviews from lawyers who are part of a team should make you think twice.
Review fraud org investigated the damn lawyers too.
Nick Abaza left reviews for Michael Trevino and Jorge Borunda.
And left one on houstonwillcontestlawyer.com.
One of several websites connected to Nick Abaza.
“I’m going to speak out about what happened to me because what happened to me could happen to anyone,” said Caroline Allison.
