He’s Missing

When people who run a charity hide and refuse to answer questions, it should raise alarm bells. That’s just one of the problems with the guy running the Galveston Historical Foundation. HE’S MISSING.

He’s Missing

Has anybody seen this man?
Dwayne Jones, the Chief Executive Officer of the Galveston Historical Foundation.

“He’s very good at, you know, hiding,” Robert Dagnon said.
We can’t seem to find him either.
But Jones was going to be the keynote speaker at a luncheon at the Tremont Hotel.

So we went.
“But he pulled a no-show for a speech, and folks were wondering obviously where the hell he was. I hope he’s not missing, nah he’s just hiding.” Wayne Dolcefino told the camera.
“If you don’t know him or he doesn’t know you, or you don’t have something special, you don’t know the secret handshake, you can’t get the guy to respond to you for something,” Dagnon said.

“This Galveston Historical Foundation started with an investigation of the money and the arguments over the possible Juneteenth Museum. But as I said a few weeks ago, we have been investigating something else, allegations of possible inappropriate sexual conduct with someone involved with a company that rents from the Galveston Historical Foundation,” Dolcefino told the camera.
The Foundation’s lawyer gave us this written statement. Confirming the investigation happened, but supposedly found no sexual harassment or inappropriate sexual or romantic conduct toward a tenant.

“It’s that word tenant that caught our attention,” Dolcefino told the camera.
Our question was about the business partner who also worked at the store.
The statement also tells us the facts and the findings of the investigation constitute confidential employment matters and will not be disclosed.
“We could’ve guessed that, but that’s one of the reasons we’ve been trying to talk to Mr. Jones, to get his side of the story,” Dolcefino told the camera.

“This guy seems to be completely detached, except for his little cloistered board, and no willingness to engage with the community,” Dagnon said.
This Galveston businessman says he’s been stonewalled by Jones. He was ready to give him a business opportunity for the island.

“We’ve got a lot of questions for Mr. Jones, and so if he shows up somewhere, let us know,” Dolcefino told the camera.
