DOLCEFINO MEDIA SUES CORPUS CHRISTI
Houston-based investigative firm Dolcefino Media has filed a civil lawsuit against the City of Corpus Christi, alleging the city has engaged in falsified cost estimates as a means to intentionally withhold public records.

The lawsuit, filed in Nueces County District Court on Monday October 26, 2026, also accuses the city of a campaign of illegal secrecy. The litigation follows complaints already made to the Texas Attorney General over the last three months.

“For several months, I have warned the City of Corpus Christi that their campaign of secrecy to hide the relationships between members of Corpus City government and hotel developer Ajit David would not stand,” Dolcefino Media President Wayne Dolcefino said. “Only in the past few days after being informed of our legal plans has the City produced some records, including receipts detailing the entertainment practices of City Manager Peter Zanoni.”

Corpus City Secretary Rebecca Huerta has ignored our phone calls for six months, an abdication of one of her key responsibilities, namely being custodian of the public records of the city.

Dolcefino Media is represented by former Assistant Attorney General Anthony Dolcefino, now a personal injury attorney for the Houston-based Khawaja Law Firm.

“There are egregious cost estimates still outstanding, thousands and thousands of dollars, hundreds and hundreds of man hours for very simple requests, Anthony Dolcefino said. “The judge will make a determination as to whether that constituted an illegal withholding of records.”

“I hope this litigation will establish rulings that will stop the abuse of the Texas Public Information Act,” Dolcefino said. “I do not bluff. We will not stand for illegal secrecy. If Corpus Christi city hall wants to save taxpayers another stupid legal bill they will release all requested records immediately.”

Corpus City councilmembers have ignored criminal complaints already filed by Dolcefino Media as part of an ongoing investigation into water contracts, and public corruption.
