The Revenge of Perry Homes

Would you want the people who built your house to be able to spy on you? We’re investigating a big Texas homebuilder again in our series on moldy homes. We call it The Revenge Of Perry Homes.
“The homebuilding industry is slamming houses together,” said mold specialist Linda Lauver.
They sure look pretty…
“While they’re building them so fast, there are construction defects that cause mold growth,” she adds.
But Texas politicians have made it very hard and expensive to get justice from that homebuilder.
“It was behind every single wall, and we had no clue,” stated Ashley Olive.
“Things never got any better. If anything, it just continued to get worse,” shared Ronald Waddell.
“I don’t live in that dream house anymore because it turned into a nightmare,” affirmed Roula Christie.
It is why scared, and angry Texas homeowners are turning to Dolcefino Media for investigating and exposing the growing mold epidemic in Houston neighborhoods.
“I was sneezing. I’m thinking they are trying to kill me. I’m trying not to cry,” expressed Lisa Liberi.
That investigation into Perry Homes and the way they are treating a mold victim has taken a very ugly turn… we call it the revenge of Perry.
What does it say about a homebuilder who builds a moldy house… then tries to go after the people who are the real victims here?
“It doesn’t say much, either leadership’s not in touch on what’s going on or they are in touch, and they are bad people,” said Manfred Sternberg.
“Over half $1 million. And this is what you buy and pay for. This is what you get,” suggested Lisa.
The Woodlands Hills neighborhood up in Willis has a problem… and it looks like Perry Homes, who built a lot of homes there, wants to keep Brent and Lisa Liberi from doing any more interviews like this one.
“I’d love to ring somebody’s neck because it’s my wife’s life at stake and that tears me apart,” confessed Brent Liberi.
A life at stake… Because their new house here on Artisan Ridge Drive had mold growing in it… the last place Lisa can live.
When we met… she was on the transplant list for two failing organs…
Now that transplant is delayed… and she blames Perry Homes.
Wayne: “If they called you right now for a transplant…?”
Lisa: “I can’t go. I cannot go.”
Wayne: “Because of Perry Homes.”
Lisa: “They’re killing me, literally.”
Perry Homes only wanted to pay these Perry Homes mold victims several thousand dollars to just go away… even though it is likely unlivable…
Instead, she came to us to help investigate.
“We put everything we had in this house… so it’s either come to y’all or walk away and lose everything,” Lisa emphasized.
Our first report on this sick house was aired in November… it’s amazing what a little public exposure can do.
“The video, don’t put me on a commercial, but your video changed the dynamic on how they behaved,” assured Manfred. “It’s a lady who needs a transplant and they knew it wasn’t going to play well for them.”
Perry Homes was now offering to buy this house back… pay some of the extra expenses too. But they wanted something in return…
They wanted the Liberis to stop talking and end any potential or future lawsuits for putting a sick woman in a sick house.
“She said we didn’t agree to that. They said well, we’re not going to buy the house unless you sign that. That’s when I got involved,” explained Manfred.
Months later, the house sale has still not gone through… and Liberi went to court to try and force Perry Homes to do the right thing…
“Ms. Liberi is literally fighting for her life waiting for organ transplants,” declared Manfred.
She wanted the judge to order Perry to pay for her temporary housing.
“He said look, I can’t ask them to pay money at TRO stage… but I was going to ask them if they are waiting for her to die to resolve the case.”
“I’m not going to be to get transplanted, this is my life, this is life or death for me,” claimed Lisa.
Instead of buying back their moldy house and making sure it doesn’t happen again…
Perry Homes is now wanting to investigate the victim… they want to see Liberi’s medical records.
Wayne: “Why do they want her medical records?”
Manfred: “Well they don’t believe she is sick.”
Wayne: “She’s on the transplant list.”
Manfred: “They don’t believe it…”
Wayne: “But she is.”
Manfred: “They don’t believe it.”
Maybe this will end Perry’s revenge… Liberi has shared with us some of the communications with methodist hospital.
In October of 2023, Liberi had been moved from inactive to active on the transplant list. Here’s the proof from Methodist Hospital.
“You could receive an offer for transplant at any time.”
A doctor’s note from November of 2024 shows Liberi is now inactive on the waiting list… kidney and pancreas… until mold in home resolved.
A Methodist letter warns Liberi to be careful: “Limit herself to exposure of sick contacts or any other potential situations which would compromise her immune system.”
Hard to do that in a moldy house… it takes nine months to get back on the transplant list.
“I’m not a scientist, but that sort of makes sense. You don’t put somebody in new organs in a moldy house,” said Manfred.
But Perry didn’t stop its revenge there…
There’s proof they accessed Liberi’s bank records without her permission.
Manfred: “For what, why?”
Wayne: “Isn’t that a crime?”
Manfred: “It sure is.”
The records show Perry went digging into Lisa’s bank records on Feb 13th at 3:55 pm… just a few hours after that court hearing…
“You know what they were looking for to see if she paid me attorney’s fees…or how much money she had in the bank in order to afford me to go the distance,” he added.
Liberi had used a plaid account to pay her escrow for the house in 2023…
She wasn’t giving Perry the right to dig into her bank records more than a year later.
“The day goes by. Tick tock, guys… why did you access her account if you made a mistake, now is the time to say you made a mistake.”
Lisa has just got medical news… a doctor warning that mold mycotoxins in her body could damage her kidney… even worse than it already is.
Brent Liberi: “I mean call it frustrated, angry or whatever you want. Worried, I mean whatever adjective you want to use, I’m hurt, angry, and frustrated…
Wayne: “And you’re worried about your wife.”
Brent Liberi: “Absolutely, 100 percent.”
