Dolcefino Consulting has filed a formal criminal complaint against Mayor Terri Gale for refusing to turn over public records detailing phone calls of City of Kemah business during several months of 2020.

The request for a criminal investigation to the Galveston County District Attorney comes after Gale ignored requests to produce the public records and multiple refusals. Gale has ignored repeated requests from the City Secretary for the records.

Dolcefino Consulting requested Mayor Gale’s phone records for all the mayor’s government related calls pertaining to city business since December of 2019. The requests cover the months of increased violence in the city lighthouse district.

“We’re not going to let the Mayor of Kemah break the law,” said Wayne Dolcefino, President of Dolcefino Consulting. “The public has a right to know how she conducts city business and if she doesn’t like sharing what she does for the residents of Kemah she ought to resign.”

The law is clear. Public officials are required to turn over requested phone records showing the work done on city time. The Mayor of Kemah is now in violation of the Texas Public Information Act. “Why would Mayor Gale hide her city phone calls from public scrutiny,” says Dolcefino. “What is she hiding?”
