Channelview Neighborhoods File Class Action Suit Against Dangerous Pipeline

The Houston law firm of Paranjpe Mahadass Ruemke LLP announces a massive class action lawsuit for the extensive property damage being done to five Channelview area neighborhoods.
The suit stems from the improper installation of a pipeline in the Channelview area in 2015 that diverted water from CenterPoint property into nearby neighborhoods, flooding the area and causing property damage and loss of property value. The pipeline was installed to connect to the Keystone pipeline.
The Houston law firm already represents dozens of homeowners who are suing defendants Enterprise Products Partners, Oiltanking Partners, and CenterPoint Energy.
The five neighborhoods that were affected are Sterling Green, Sterling Green South, Sterling Forest, Overbluff Meadow, and Channelwood.
The plaintiffs in the suit allege that the companies engaged in negligence, gross negligence, trespass and nuisance when they installed the pipeline that resulted in the vast damage.
The class action lawsuit comes as Houston is quickly approaching the two-year anniversary of Hurricane Harvey. In a city that is already known to flood badly, these companies stand accused of recklessly endangering a great number of livelihoods for their own personal gain.
“We think it’s unfair that these working families who want to go home to relax are having their lives torn apart,” says Tej Paranjpe, attorney for the PMR law firm. “This multi-billion-dollar pipeline is cutting corners in an effort to increase their profit margin at the expense of a safe neighborhood.”
The PMR law firm is seeking exemplary or punitive damages on behalf of the class of plaintiffs. The plaintiffs are asking for a judgment of more than $50 million.
