Judge Throws Out Cypress Creek EMS Criminal Case

Five years after the Harris County District Attorney filed criminal charges against Cypress Creek EMS the case has been thrown out on a technicality.
Stupid right? Actually, it is shameful.
The indictment in 2014 named Cypress Creek and not the official responsible for providing non-profit records, Executive Director Brad England. Cypress Creek lawyers used the technicality to get Judge Robin Brown to throw it out. We weren’t even notified of the hearing.
“It would have been nice to see Judge Brown tell Cypress Creek they have broken the public trust by hiding the way they spend millions of dollars in tax money, but apparently she found an easy way to avoid enforcing the law,” says Wayne Dolcefino, President of Dolcefino Consulting.
“This 5- year fight actually sends another message,” says Dolcefino. “The current district attorney, Kim Ogg, doesn’t give a damn about the public right to know.”
For five years Dolcefino Consulting has tried to warn taxpayers of ESD #11 they are getting ripped off by their ambulance contractor CCEMS. A recent internal audit verified serious financial concerns. The elected members of ESD #11 not only haven’t helped find the truth, they have hired a PR firm to fight us instead of fighting for taxpayers.
“I would refile the criminal case,” says Dolcefino, “but that would end up in the same black hole all the other criminal complaints about transparency do in Kim Ogg’s useless Public Integrity Office. Voters need to get off their fannies and elect people who will protect their tax money.”
